Whitehall Used Row Boat Whitehall Rowing Boats: Can You Use The Sail And Row At The Same Time?

Whitehall Rowing Boats: Can you use the sail and row at the same time? - whitehall used row boat

I am interested in the boat 17 'Whitehall, but also want to know if I can the configuration of the sail and one or two rowers, both? I would be for navigation and the ocean and Catalina Island using a 21-mile trip to the next point. I do not use motor, so that when the wind is missing it would be nice to be able to line or line of sailing when the wind is light.

First, there is a small boat for a trip of 42 miles each way. Presentation 5 to 7 hours each way. It seems a very long day for me.

It's normal navigation with two people, one behind the arm and the other is probably the main sail at the helm. Both have enough to do without a paddle. There must be a teams of 3 to a rower.

I assume that can be connected in light winds as the chips, but only as an explosion that could fall on the boat. Surf and paddle at the same time but not very practical. It would be better in most cases, roll up the sails in the wind and do with less worries, you should better speed paddle only.

When we use the Roman and Greek specialties and manage Viking ships, why not in line with the boat?
